This website includes a range of downloadable infographics, photographs, logos, and activity sheets all of which can be used to promote any activity you may wish to undertake. We will also, as standard, to supply a free basic promo package to all retailers (of 15 or less physical outlets) who register their intention to participate before 12th May 2025. The promo bundles we’re providing will include:

NEW FOR 2025! The first 50 retailers to register will also receive a bonus pack of branded items, including bunting, pens and pet tags.
- This is an opportunity for pet shop and store owners to promote their businesses to a wider audience, with the backing of a national campaign. Johnson’s will be undertaking extensive media outreach in the run-up to National Pet Shop Day to promote the benefits of visiting a pet shop for common, minor pet ailments, so there will already be noise generated that you can capitalise on.
- In the current economic climate, and with the high street continuing to face challenges bought about by the cost-of-living crisis, there is no more important time to make some noise about everything you do to drive footfall and encourage loyalty. Let us help you effectively promote the experience, practical advice, support and products many pet shops across the UK can offer for common minor pet healthcare issues, in a positive, non-confrontational manner.
- In 2024, National Pet Shop Day exceeded expectations, with over 200 retailers directly engaging with the brand and the campaign—doubling Johnson’s initial benchmark of 100 participating stores in its first year. A post-campaign wrap-up survey amongst participants revealed that 35% benefitted from an uptick in footfall on the day itself, whereas 25% reported this trend continued over time.
- We listened to and took on board your fantastic feedback about last year’s National Pet Shop Day. As a result, in 2025 we have secured additional independent pet trade support from both BIRA (British Independent Retail Association) and PIF (Pet Industry Federation) to add further weight to the messages we are aiming to vocalise on your behalf. Together, we share a common goal. We want to encourage more people to visit smaller or independent high street pet shops and stores by celebrating the wonderful range of services, products and individuals that are right there on our doorsteps. By doing so, we aim to effectively tackle the challenging economic environment that retailers are currently operating in.
- Businesses who engage in National Pet Shop Day will be able to increase their reach online and on social media by utilising pre-approved marketing and PR collateral. Maximising online presence often helps to stimulate trial and brand preference.
- We will be running a ‘best-dressed’ display competition once again this year, with five £500 Pets in Pyjamas gift vouchers up for grabs. All you will need to do is send us photos of your fantastic window displays or instore promotions from the day, to be in with the chance of claiming one of these vouchers, which can be redeemed against one of Pets in Pyjamas’ wonderful dog-friendly holidays – be that at a spa hotel, charming country house, delightful pub, or cosy dog-friendly cottage.
