National Pet Shop Day is your chance to make sure everyone else knows it too.
Taking place on Saturday 11th July 2026, this is a national campaign with a clear mission: to close the gap between how much pet owners say they value independent pet shops, and how often their shopping habits actually reflect that. Our research shows that two thirds of pet owners say independent pet shops are important to their community. More than half would be upset if theirs closed. Yet only one in eight names an independent as their main source of pet products.
That is the story we are telling this year. And your shop is at the heart of it.
Last year, more than 500 independent retailers across the UK took part in National Pet Shop Day. This year, we want even more shops to join them.
