Pet Industry Federation (PIF)
The Pet Industry Federation (PIF) is the UK's leading membership association for pet businesses. It represents companies across the pet sector including pet retailers, pet groomers, pet service businesses, manufacturers, kennels and catteries.
PIF provides professional support, training, networking and a range of industry-leading events and webinars to its members and the wider industry, while promoting high standards of animal welfare and business practices. It also works with government bodies and other organisations to help shape pet industry policy and regulations in the UK.
British Independent Retail Association (Bira)
Bira work as the voice of independent retail businesses, fighting for a level playing field for the independent sector. They influence media and challenge Government legislation with the sole aim of keeping our UK high streets diverse and lively. They provide support on key areas of strain like business rates, parking and staffing.
Bira utilises strength in numbers of thousands of independent retailers to negotiate special terms on key business outgoings like card processing, business insurance, buying and many more. Questions or issues surrounding employment law, HR, health and safety, tax and VAT can be directed towards the legal advisors at Bira Legal, which retailers have unlimited access to all included in the cost of membership.
Ornamental Aquatic Trade Association (OATA)
OATA is the voice of the ornamental aquatic industry in the UK, working to promote and protect the trade and everyone in it. From setting high standards and providing expert guidance, to representing the industry at the highest levels of government, OATA exists to support the businesses and hobbyists who make the ornamental aquatic world what it is. Its members include independent retailers across the UK who bring passion, knowledge and genuine expertise to every customer interaction - exactly the spirit that National Pet Shop Day celebrates.
